On to New Orleans for the IFEBP Conference!
Many of us are prepping to attend the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) Annual Conference being held in New Orleans 10/13 through 10/17/18. One review of the multiple course sessions and relevant pre-conference options tells me that there is a wealth of information on healthcare issues, actionable skill training, analytics demonstrations, and prolific networking with other professionals – and that I am psyched to participate!
The positive support of the IFEBP even extended to our recent NYLHCA Annual Seminar at Turning Stone in September. The co-hosting (with our own Executive Committee) and materials preparation by Thomas DeRoche, Director of Educational Programs for the IFEBP, was a huge boost to our timely topic content and expert speaker effectiveness. (Many Thanks IFEBP!)
Stay tuned to hear what happens with this influx of high-level expertise in New Orleans! Many of us (especially relative ‘Newbies’ like me!) will get much useable data and new contacts which helps us all produce better results for our Alliance, our Fund Members and ultimately those Union Members and their families in an increasingly challenging healthcare industry. I hope to see many NYLHCA Member Funds there!
Of course, on 11/9 at the Grand Hyatt in NYC, the 25th Annual Health & Benefits Expo is being hosted by the Teamsters Center. Many will also be there to share info and make new contacts over a good listing of educational sessions and information booth exposures. Every bit of info that can give us a ‘leg up’ in this era of rising health plan costs, addiction and treatment crisis, as well as pharmacy specialty drug increases – all represent an opportunity to share and execute new approaches. This will be essential to combat – and overcome- growing challenges going forward.
